WORLD PARKINSONS DAY
11 APRIL 2026
Could you organise an event for World Parkinson's Day ?
Whether it's a sponsored fundraising, an awareness event or just a coffee morning for People with Parkinson's in Herefordshire
If you organise an event please get in touch with us. Tell us the details so we can include them in our newsletters and social media platforms letting others know what's happening in your area.
It doesn't have to be for WPD, it could be for another time in the year. Get your event out to a wider audience and make it an even bigger success

Local Northern Soul enthusiast and DJ, Alister Cole has given himself a seemingly enormous challenge of performing a non-stop 24 hour DJ set to raise fund for his local Parkinson’s branch in Hereford. The challenge will be to commence at 8.00 pm on Saturday 31st July 2026 and finish at 8.00pm on Sunday 1st August 2026 - some 24 hours later without stopping. Playing his own personal collection of rare Northern Soul, Motown and Classic soul vinyl records.
" There will be no repeats, no requests and no stopping. I've estimated about 600 records to do it. Averaging out a duration of two and a half minutes per record that is, so I'll have to be on my game the whole time. Unless I stick on a load of 12" of course, but that wouldn't be right and they will only be for the purposes of comfort breaks, LOL"
Alister has set a target of £3000 and a just giving page for people to donate to his cause.
The venue where this takes place is at the The Larruperz Community Centre, Ross on Wye who have kindly donated a room to him so that people will be allowed to come and support him, and dance to the tunes and share the event also.
31st July starting 8pm (conditions apply)
