"Dance for Parkinson's" with our wonderful tutor, Elly Ingram,
at Leominster Community Centre, School Road, Leominster, HR6 8NJ
Sessions are from 11.00am to 12.00 noon on 1st, 3rd & 5th Fridays of the month
“This is dance with a difference and is a really enjoyable way to get some exercise and feels so liberating. It left us in no doubt that music helps movement and Elly's special approach and technique certainly worked for us and made us feel better and more relaxed.”
Elly looks forward to introducing you to the creative method she uses as a way to help everyone benefit from dance, whatever their dancing and movement abilities and difficulties. Some people may stay seated throughout the session, while others will move around the room. Do bring any medication you need and also water to drink and keep hydrated, especially if the weather is hot. Nordic Walking has been shown to provide positive results for people with Parkinson's disease. It is a full-body exercise that's easy on the joints and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. It's based on using specially designed walking poles in a way that harnesses the power of the upper body to propel you forward as you walk. Unfortunately their is no local, qualified Nordic Walking instructor available at present if you here of one please let us know.
